Changes to the AWI standards

Randy Estabrook, Executive Director of AWI-QCP, talks to Zach Deas, owner of Deas Millwork of Semmes, AL and current chair of AWI-QCP’s board of directors.

They discuss the Architectural Woodwork Standards (AWS), the changes that AWI is currently making, and the next segment of development of the standards.

AWI is now focusing on the structural integrity of interior woodwork and finishes rather than seeking prescriptive requirements. The aim is to allow for flexibility in following specific criteria for performance and quality when purchasing, manufacturing, or installing architectural woodwork. Want to read the podcast?
